WATER SAFETY NOTICE

Sidmouth Regatta Air Show – Friday 28 August 2026

In anticipation of the much-anticipated Sidmouth Regatta Air Show over Sidmouth on Friday 28 August, we politely request that spectators and in particular, boat, jet ski and kayak/paddleboard owners take note of the following:

On safety grounds and on the Flying Display Director’s instructions, a temporary Air Display Water Safety Zone (ADWSZ) will be in force (and being patrolled) on the water offshore of Sidmouth Beach.  No vessels will be permitted in this area between 15:30 and the end of the display*. The flying display is scheduled to commence at 16:50 (based on current information) and will last until approximately 19:05

*The restriction does not apply to the Emergency Services

The ADWSZ will be marked by coloured buoys and patrolled by Sidmouth Lifeboat and associated craft.

The exclusion zone is indicated on the map below:

A failure to comply with this restriction could result in the air display being delayed, curtailed or even cancelled.  We therefore encourage spectators to watch the display from one of the many vantage points on shore.

General Safety

May we also take this opportunity to remind the public, particularly those with small children and/or pets to be aware of loud jet and aircraft engine noise during the display, and to ensure that adequate ear protection is worn where appropriate. As always, please remember to wear sun cream and to stay hydrated.

Thank you – we hope you have a fantastic day and enjoy the displays.
