Local brass band, Ottery St Mary Silver Band, is hosting a season of Thursday evening free brass band concerts on the outdoor stage at the Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth.
The large lawn in front of the outdoor stage is perfect for relaxing and listening to the music, perhaps as part of a picnic. At the back of the lawn, there is a paved area, with some seating and a covered area, in case of a sudden shower.
The band has three separate programmes of music, each encompassing a range of music including marches, hymns, music from films and shows, and popular tunes.
Although the concerts are free, collectors will be taking voluntary collections during the evening. Any donations would be gratefully received.
Unfortunately, the concerts do have to be cancelled in rainy weather and the best way to check for last-minute cancellations is via the Ottery St Mary Silver Band Facebook page.
