Headlight is back!

Headlight is a mental health support project for 13-24 year olds. Due to Government guidance and the restrictions on social distancing they had to alter the way they work from face to face support to a temporary online and telephone service. However, with the recent lifting on restrictions they are back to face to face working and couldn’t be happier!

Headlight use peer support and facilitated group sessions as well as one to one support for young people. They currently work in three towns: Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth and Axminster; and take referrals from across East Devon.

Headlight’s unique approach offers a combination service. Young people gain support and encouragement through their peers, a trained, friendly and professional staff team, and from excellent volunteers; as well as one to one support from one of our mental health support workers.

‘We work with young people to set goals and targets for themselves and gain tools in resilience and confidence. I’m so happy that we are able to support young people in the way they want again, times have been hard for so many young people and we are eager to encourage anyone within our age range to come forward and get some help if they need it’ said Ben Feasey, the Headlight Manager

Groups are running on Monday 6-7:30pm for Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary and Thursday 6-7:30pm for Axminster.”

Referrals can be made in the usual way via our online form on the website https://actioneastdevon.org.uk/
