Sidmouth Regatta & Airshow – Travel Update and Guidance
We are pleased to update that recent emergency utility works have been completed in Temple Street and the road is scheduled to be fully reopened this morning, Friday 22nd August. This means that all major routes into the town are open.
On entry to the town, visitors arriving by car to the Regatta Air Show are advised to follow signs to the extra car parking provided. However, to help minimise traffic on the roads residents and visitors are encouraged to car share or walk if possible.
We look forward to welcoming you to this years Regatta Airshow.
From 18th August Tickets for the Sidmouth Airshow Grand Prize Draw will be available from Sidmouth Information Centre. The Grand Prize Draw gives show goers a chance to win an incredible 3 hour Flight Simulator Experience for three, VIP All Day Tickets for two at the Jazz & Blues Festival 2026, Tickets for two at the Ham Marquee for the Folk Festival 2026 and RAF and Red Arrows Merchandise. Tickets will also be on sale on the Esplanade and at the Ham on Friday 22 August and the draw will be made at 7.30pm the same day.

Saturday 23rd August

Sidmouth Watersports Hub will be open all day for food and drink.
Sidmouth Lifeboat Flag Day – Open Boathouse with crew on station to meet & greet with some activities.
10.30 – 5pm Sailing. Viewing from the sea front.

11am – 4pm Rotary Sidmouth Treasure Hunt Open to Families and children accompanied by adults around chosen sites of interest in Sidmouth.

11am – 2pm Sidmouth Surf Lifesaving host the East Devon Championships on Clifton Beach

2pm-4pm Friends of The Knowle Teddy Bears Picnic-FREE-Knowle Gardens – Nature Treasure Hunt, Crafting, BYO Picnic & Teddy, drinks provided.

2pm & 4pm Play written by local playwright Christine Hardy telling the story of when H G Wells visited The Glen Boarding house in April 1895 and how he might have come up with the idea for his Sea Raiders short story. The production is for all the family and involves giant squids, puppetry and local actors. It will be performed as part of Sidmouth Regatta at The Ham with two shows at 2pm and 4pm. The play is directed by Marc Colson with members of Sid Vale Community Productions taking part. We are grateful to Sidmouth Town Council who have helped fund this performance. No charge is being made but there will be a retiring collection with any donations very welcome to help with additional costs.

4-7pm Rotary Sidmouth Raft Race – :
4pm Teams with their own Raft Race to assemble outside the Watersports Hub.
Around 5pm Fancy Dress competition will be judged by chair of Sidmouth Town Council, Councillor Hilary Nelson.
5pm Sidmouth Lifeboat will be on the water for a pre raft race display.
Rafts will be taken from Port Royal to the starting point at Clifton end for 6pm start.

The Raft Race is sponsored by South West Water .
6pm The Big Noise Street Band Port Royal end of the prom
9.15pm Grand Pyromusical Firework Display at Port Royal.

Sunday 24th August

Sidmouth Watersports Hub open from 8.30am
10am-4pm Sidmouth Gig Club Regatta – Sidmouth Jurassic League regatta. Viewing from the sea front.

10.30am – 1pm Sailing. Viewing from the sea front.
