Sidmouth has a remarkable international treescape. If you pick just one point and stand on the lawn terrace in the garden of The Knowle you get a world tour of a view with trees from China, Portugal, the Balkans, California, Persia, New England, Louisiana and Ireland. Trees of other nationalities can be seen all around the town. Ed Dolphin will present highlights from his new book, Sidmouth’s World of Trees, written jointly for Sidmouth Arboretum and the SVA, which explores the origins of some of these trees and how they came to live in Sidmouth.
