Each walk is a gentle 2- hour stroll on footpaths through parks and public gardens and along quiet roads. You will be led by one of the Arboretum’s volunteers around some of the most interesting and impressive trees in the town. Walks depart from the Museum at 10.30 each Friday from 25th June through to the end September. The end destinations are a ten-minute walk away from the town centre.
The Bickwell route goes through Glen Goyle and Bickwell Valley, and ends in Knowle, it includes a short stretch along Broadway with no roadside footpath and some steps in the Garden of Knowle. Walks are all but the severest weather conditions. There is a charge of £2.50 per person, proceeds are split between the Arboretum’s tree planting and the SVA’s conservation work. Tickets are available from Sidmouth Museum including on the day. Find out more about the UK’s only Civic Arboretum at http://sidmoutharboretum.org.uk/
