Sidmouth in Bloom (SIB) is a voluntary group that aims to raise the horticultural, environmental and community awareness throughout the town.
THE GARDENERS, known as ‘The Sidplanters;
Meet every Thursday morning throughout the year. Other working days are available to suit volunteers.
THE SIDCOMBERS;
Beach cleaning commences in March. All ages are welcome. Meet on the West End of the Promenade near the bus shelters. Refreshments served. Times are put in the Sidmouth Herald and on notice boards and vary according to tides but are generally for 2 hours from approximately 1 – 3pm or 2 – 4pm. Please check the Sidmouth Herald. Wear suitable clothing, gloves and bring a large bucket. Litter pickers, bags provided. Dates for beach cleaning are announced in the Sidmouth Herald’s ‘What’s On’ section.
THE SIDBASHERS
This group removes Himalayan balsam from the valley in order to allow the native fauna and flora to thrive. Clearance starts on Tuesday the 28th May from 9.30am- 12.30pm, and then successive Tuesdays until the end of August. The weed is easy to remove. Instuctions will be given.
