Public discussion around climate change
Dame Julia Slingo, Dough Eltham and local adopters of low carbon technology will talk about and lead discussion on climate issues.
Dame Julia will provide a brief summary of our latest understanding of the potential severity of future climate change and where the science can have a bearing on our mitigation actions.
Doug Eltham will describe the key aspects of the Devon Carbon Plan aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in the county. The interim plan was published for consultation in 2021.
Local adopters of low carbon technology will cover their experiences in several areas:
- Jon Ball: solar panels.
- David Wade: electric cars.
- Brian Golding: air source heat pumps
- Ken Mylne: electric bikes
