Around 1,750 moth species have been recorded in Devon, yet the
amazing diversity and important roles that moths play in ecosystems remain understudied and underappreciated. In this talk Professor Richard Fox, Head of Science for Butterfly Conservation and Chair of Devon Moth Group, will explain how moths are faring in the UK, what is causing the changes and what the implications might be for other species. Along the way, he’ll bust some of the common myths about moths, outline the incredible citizen science data on UK moths and suggest some simple actions you can take to give moths a helping hand.
